Another childcare centre added to list where accused sex offender worked

Another childcare centre has been confirmed as having employed a Point Cook man charged with 70 offences against children

In a statement on July 16, police said that Joshua Brown was employed at World of Learning in Point Cook on August 24, 2023.

In addition, the date Brown was believed to have worked at Kids Academy in Melton was amended to September 12, 2024, having previously being listed as September 2.

Brown, 26, was arrested on May 12 and has since been charged with more than 70 offences relating to the alleged sexual abuse of children.

He was remanded in custody and will appear before the Melbourne Magistrates Court on September 15.

Police now believe Brown worked at 24 childcare centres between January 2017 and May 2025.

Agencies are in the process of contacting the families who had children placed at the new impacted centre in Point Cook during the time of Brown’s employment.

The investigation is ongoing and police are advising that further updates are possible.

A dedicated website has been established by the state government with a full list of Brown’s employment locations and dates.
