Ambulance response times for the most vital cases in Wyndham increased throughout the last quarter, according to the latest stats from Ambulance Victoria (AV).
Performance data for the first quarter of the 2025-26 period showed the average response time to code one calls in June-September was 15 minutes and 28 second – up from 15 minutes and five seconds in the previous three months.
AV classifies code one emergencies as life-threatening incidents such as cardiac arrests and severe cases of trauma.
The percentage of code one incidents responded to in less than the benchmark 15 minutes decreased from 65.6 per cent to 64.3 per cent –which is slightly better than the state average of 64.1 per cent.
The increase in response time comes alongside a rise in the amount of total incidents responded, from 3659 in the previous quarter to 3732 between June and September.
Despite this, response times in Wyndham still remained better than the statewide average which was 15 minutes and 46 seconds.
AV metropolitan regional director Jessica McGowan said AV recognised the state’s constantly growing demand, reporting the rising call volumes and hospital handover delays as key pressures across the network.
“Every small improvement, from more efficient handovers to quicker clearing times adds up to better care for all Victorians,” she said.
