Whether she is singing, dancing, acting or drawing, nine-year-old Amalia Safonova is at home in the spotlight.

The multi-talented youngster said she first started singing at age five.

“I enjoy bringing happiness to people through my singing, and I just love dancing,” she said.

“I don’t know why l like drawing – I’m a creative person.”

Amalia, who is in grade 4 at Heathdale Christian College in Werribee, often sings solo at school assemblies.

She is also a keen participant in eisteddfods and performing arts contests.

“I’ve won 13 gold, three silver and 10 bronze for singing at classical compositions in all age groups,” she said.

“I’m a soprano singer, and the highest note I can reach at the moment is an E, that’s two octaves above middle C.”

Amalia’s performance skills have seen her cast in The Sound of Music, which will be staged at the Babirra Theatre in Nunawading, from May 31 to June 15.
