Adults learning to swim with WynSwim

WynActive is proving that you are never too old to learn how to swim through the WynSwim program.

Following a recommendation from Life Saving Victoria, Bendigo Bank expressed interest in funding swimming lessons for multicultural adults as part of their community service initiative to save lives.

Cam Whitford, who is a swim teacher for the program, was asked how teaching children and adults differ.

“Teaching children in swimming involves more play and encouragement, while adults often need technical explanations and reassurance,” Mr Whitford said.

“Children might need more time to feel comfortable, while adults may bring existing fears.”

The initiative will run for 10 weeks at AquaPulse as a pilot program.
