Wyndham continues to have the most active COVID-19 cases in Victoria, despite a drop in the number of cases.

According to the Department of Health and Human Services (DHHS), the municipality has recorded 811 active cases of the virus as of today (Wednesday, August 19), down from 929 a week earlier.

Brimbank has recorded the second-highest number of active cases (743).

The 3029 and 3030 postcodes also continue to top the list of Victorian postcodes for virus cases.

The 3029 area (Hoppers Crossing, Tarneit and Truganina) recorded 432 cases, while 3030 (Werribee, Point Cook, Werribee South and Quandong) recorded 293 cases.

The 3024 postcode (Mambourin, Manor Lakes, Mount Cottrell and Wyndham Vale) recorded 90 cases, and 3027 (Williams Landing) 25 cases.

A total of 210 cases have been linked to Al-Taqwa College in Truganina.

An outbreak at Baptcare Wyndham Lodge Community in Werribee has been linked to 147 cases, while 83 cases have been linked to Glendale Aged Care Facility in Werribee.

The Linfox warehouse in Truganina has been linked to 64 cases.

DHHS is also investigating cases linked to Werribee Mercy Hospital and AB Oxford Cold Storage in Laverton.

Between Sunday and Monday, police stopped a driver at the Little River checkpoint who admitted he was driving to Rye to stay overnight at his holiday house.

In addition, police encountered a man in the Wyndham area who broke curfew to buy donuts.

On Friday, Woolworths announced it has expanded its contactless drive-through service to almost 30 new stores in Victoria, to help make social distancing easier for customers when picking up their online orders.

Stores in Altona North, Hogans Corner, Hoppers Crossing, Werribee Central, Werribee Plaza and Williamstown are offering the service, which allows customers to order groceries online and have personal shoppers pick them out in-store.

Customers confirm when they’ve arrived in the store’s carpark via the Woolworths app or SMS link, and store employees will pack the order into the vehicle.

All drive-through orders must be placed through Woolworths.com.au with a minimum value of $30.
