In the running for Reclink

Lesley Hanson loves running.

“I like to be kind to myself. Running is the best way I can do that,” she says. “It’s great for my health and fitness. It keeps me accountable while releasing natural endorphins.”

Just last year she achieved a massive goal, running 100 kilometres in the Surf Coast Century Run.

On May 1, Lesley will be taking on the Reclink Community Champions Run, running 21km and raising cash to support the organisation’s sport and arts programs.

“I’m definitely a big supporter of Reclink and the work they do,” she said.

“I was first introduced to the organisation after reading an article in Star Weekly. I was in awe of Reclink’s work in including the unincluded, and wanted to get involved.

“We’re all working to get ahead, money makes us all tick. Reclink works hard to include the disadvantaged and the homeless.”

Lesley wrote to Reclink’s founder, Peter Cullen, and now supports the organisation with sponsorship and by participating in events.

The Reclink Community Champions Run will be held on May 1 at Chirnside Park.

The event includes runs over several distances from a 2km kids dash to 21km. Registration is $25.

Participants are encouraged to register before the event at reclink.org/communitychampionsrun
