A fair deal of delight

Pupils at Little River Primary School are enjoying preparing art and crafts for the school’s upcoming Country Fair.

The fair is a long-standing tradition – it’s been held since the 1980s – and is the school’s major annual fundraising event.

Some of the money raised at this year’s fair, being held on Sunday, March 17, will be used to upgrade and equip the school’s playground.

Principal Pamela Heane said the fair would include an auction, open air market, animal farm, book fair, white elephant stall, house of horrors, games, competitions and dancing. Homemade jams and cakes will be sold and there will be Devonshire teas to enjoy.

Ms Heane said the school’s aim was to enable all 150 of its student to reach their “full academic, social, emotional and physical potential”.

Many of the school’s families and Little River community members have volunteered to help out at the fair or contribute in some way.

“Little River Primary School is fortunate and very appreciative of the support provided by local community groups, local businesses and our families,” Ms Heane said.

The Country Fair will be held at Little River Primary School, 21 Flinders Street, Little River, on Sunday, March 17, from 10am-3pm, with free entry and carparking.
