$36K Necklace stolen

Police are appealing for public assistance in locating a gold necklace valued at $36,000 taken from a jewellery store in Werribee earlier this month.

Investigators have been told a man entered the store at a shopping centre on Heaths Road at 10am, Thursday, April 7, and asked to view a nine-carat gold 55cm curb necklace.

The man left the store without paying and drove away in a black Nissan Navara utility allegedly displaying the false restriction plates A9B 9AC.

Police have released images of a man that may be able to assist with the investigation.

He is described as Caucasian, 170 centimetres tall, with short dark hair and a medium build.

He was wearing spectacles, a blue face mask, an fluorescent orange jacket, khaki pants and black Nike shoes.

Anyone with information is urged to contact Crime Stoppers on 1800 333 000 or  www.crimestoppervic.com.au
