Saltwater Promenade Community Centre at Point Cook has moved a step closer with the contract for construction of the $7.4 million hub awarded by Wyndham council last week.
Works are due to be completed by early 2016.
The centre will include a kindergarten, maternal and child health facilities, a community kitchen and an outdoor amphitheatre.
