Wyndham council seeks Yarra River crossing promise

Wyndham council has urged the state opposition to commit to a second major Yarra River crossing.

Labor’s East-West Link alternative, the western distributor, will add one lane in either direction of the West Gate Freeway and remove trucks from the West Gate Bridge.

But Cr Glenn Goodfellow said despite removing 20,000 to 30,000 vehicles and 5000 trucks, the plan will have a “short lifespan” due to Wyndham’s population growth.
