East Werribee: Senior development manager a ‘key role’

The East Werribee development has taken another important step forward with the state government advertising for a senior development manager to help deliver the project.

The Metropolitan Planning Authority (MPA) has announced that it is looking for someone to fill the role for the next four to six months, with the successful applicant taking home up to $135,000 pro rata.

An advertisement for the job states that whoever fills the role would report to the MPA’s director of economic planning and development.

“The MPA is leading the East Werribee project … it is an extremely important and exciting project for Melbourne,,” the notice said.

“We have a need to fill the senior development manager role for an initial period of four to six months.

“This key role requires an experienced manager fully conversant with a specialised knowledge of both the Victorian state government and the Victorian development industry, to manage and assist in the successful delivery and co-ordination of the East Werribee project.”

The East Werribee Employment Precinct will provide 7100 new houses on what is currently paddocks.

Last week, Star Weekly revealed that the MPA had allocated three hectares of land behind the present Werribee police station for a justice precinct as part of East Werribee.
