A man has died and another has been seriously injured following a three-car collision in Tarneit.
A police spokeswoman said the man was killed in the accident which happened about 6am on Wednesday on Derrimut Road, just north of Dohertys Road.
Another man was airlifted to The Alfred hospital with serious but non life-threatening injuries.
A third man is believe to have escaped injury.
Police from the major collision investigation unit are on their way to scene to determine the circumstances leading to the accident.
Derrimut Road is expected to be closed until at least midday between Boundary and Dohertys roads.
Detours are in place via Boundary and Dohertys roads.
VicRoads has advised motorists driving through the area to allow extra travel time.
