Hoppers Crossing drug bust leads to arrests | Gallery

Police pounced on a man and woman in Hoppers Crossing on Thursday during a dramatic daylight drug bust.

A 54-year-old woman and a 53-year-old man, both from Wyndham Vale, were arrested for possessing a drug of dependence at the Hogans Corner Shopping Centre, on the corner of Hogans and Derrimut roads about 1pm.

The man was wearing a dressing gown at the time.

Sergeant Shannon Thompson from the Wyndham Crime Investigation Unit told Star Weekly that the arrests were the result of a passer-by’s call to police.

“It was a response to a triple-0 call that has turned into a drug investigation,” Sergeant Thompson said.

“There were exhibits seized from the scene and they will be forensically tested.”

At the time of publishing both alleged offenders were being questioned by police and Sergeant Thompson said the incident was part of an ongoing investigation.
