Sean Stanek believes learning should be a fun experience.
The Woodville Primary School teacher carefully plans each of his lessons to ensure there are plenty of activities and experiences for his pupils to learn from and enjoy.
Last week, his dedication to making school enjoyable was recognised at the National Excellence in Teaching awards, where he was named one of Victoria’s nine most inspirational educators.
Mr Stanek was one of 77 Victorian teachers, including Anne Marie Palmer from Werribee’s St Andrew’s Primary School, to be nominated for the award.
The grade 2/3 teacher said he was surprised to be nominated by the school council and parents association, and shocked to discover he had won.
“I always work hard for the kids and the school. I get into as many activities as I can for the kids,” he said.
Mr Stanek is a finalist in the national awards that will be decided next year.
