There’s a hullabaloo at the zoo for $2.5m entrance

Werribee Open Range Zoo’s new entrance has received a roar of approval from Werribee Primary School pupils.

Georgie, 9, was among the first to see the $2.5 million precinct during a special visit to the zoo on October 22.

The state government-funded entrance features a nine-piece animal sculpture designed by Phil Woodman, a new arrivals area and ticketing windows for faster entry, information centre and cafe.

Environment Minister Ryan Smith said the precinct was critical to the future success of the zoo and would improve accessibility.
