153 new COVID cases in Wyndham

The state has recorded 1461 new COVID-19 cases and seven COVID-related deaths in the past 24 hours, with Wyndham among the top 10 municipalities for high numbers of cases on the weekend.

A statement issued by the Department of Health and Human Services on Sunday said that out of the 1935 coronavirus cases recorded that day, the highest number of new cases were located in Casey, Cardinia, Frankston, Melton, Wyndham, Greater Dandenong, Whittlesea, Hume, Brimbank and Moreland.

Today, 153 new COVID cases have been diagnosed in Wyndham residents.

This includes 72 cases in the 3029 postcode, 43 cases in the 3030 postcode and 39 cases in the 3024 postcode.

Across the state, there are now 152 people with COVID in intensive care, including 92 people on ventilators.

On Sunday, 11 people with COVID-19 died in Victoria.

More than 91 per cent of Victorians aged 16 and over have now had at least one dose of a COVID-19 vaccine and 73.7 per cent have had two doses.

Pandemic restrictions are set to ease again at 6pm on October 29.
