Business Matters: The mighty monarchs of storage in Truganina, Hoppers Crossing

We all know the hassles involved in sourcing strong packing boxes when moving house, but Storage King makes it a breeze.

What can you do when your new house is unable to accommodate all your “stuff” but it’s too precious to discard or give away?

Storage King has easy temporary or permanent solutions.

Australasia’s largest self-storage company, with 142 stores and counting, Storage King has “king” in its title for good reason – it rules in the self-storage industry, according to the managers of the Hoppers Crossing and Truganina stores, Kylie Willan and Vicki Chandler.

“The Storage King brand first emerged 20 years ago and has helped householders and businesses with their storage needs at a consistently high standard of professionalism,” Kylie says.

“To back this up, our Hoppers Crossing store – in operation for the past 13 years – has won many awards, including this year’s Merchandise Sales award.

“Always expanding, we’ve recently added 265 units, bringing the total to 540.”

Vicki says the Truganina store is brand new, having opened in May.

“We’re very happy to be part of the Storage King family,” Vicki says. “We offer outside shipping container storage, along with all the packaging needs the business is known for.”

So what exactly does Storage King offer?

It sells boxes, port-a-robes, paper, tape, bubble-wrap and plastic covers – whether to protect stored goods or those in transit during a house or office move.

Stores have consultants who are experts at finding the best solution for specific needs. There’s also an online space estimator to work out what size storage capacity you will need.

The storage specialists cater for all-sized needs, both domestic and commercial. Access to goods is easy and premises are highly secured. Courier services are also provided.

Kylie and Vicki value their stores’ contribution to charitable causes.

“For every pink tea chest sold in October, we will give the McGrath Foundation $1,” Kylie says.

“On October 27, the Hoppers Crossing site is participating in the Garage Sale Trail, hosting multiple garage sales in the one location. Anyone can have their own stall on the day, just call us to book it in.

“It will be a great family day, with a jumping castle, fairy floss and popcorn, a coffee van and a special guest to entertain kids.”
