IN FOCUS: It’s all smiles at Hoppers Crossing

When Dr Sarojani Maskey left Wyndham after working as a dentist in the area for more than seven years, she didn’t know how much she would miss the place … so she returned, opening Dental@Hoppers about two months ago. She and her family are happy to be back and ready to offer locals a top-notch affordable dental service.

‘I love Wyndham but another reason I returned was to allow my daughters to get their education here. My youngest daughter is starting prep at Truganina South Primary School and my elder daughter is in year 11 at Suzanne Cory High School and I wanted to be around for them more instead of spending time travelling to work in another area,” Dr Maskey explains.

With the assistance of dental nurses, Mandy and Salu, Dr Maskey, who can speak Nepali, Hindi and English fluently, offers general and cosmetic dentistry, as well as denture services.

Dental@Hoppers accepts patients with private insurance from all health funds. The clinic also looks after children from two to 17 years old through the Child Dental Benefit Scheme – parents can access a $1000 voucher from Medicare to contribute towards costs for two calendar years.

A passionate dentist, Dr Maskey aims to educate her patients and encourage them to take care of their oral hygiene and health.

“As I have two children, I understand the importance of educating children about their oral health, and I have a lot of patience and strive to do this as much as possible,” she says.

“It’s not just the lovely children who visit our clinic that might get a gentle ‘talking-to’ about oral health, it’s the adults as well. Prevention of dental problems is so important.

“But if dental problems do develop, we’re totally committed to solving them – and in a very calm, relaxed way.”

Dr Maskey says as well as the convenience for patients of being open every day, the clinic is state-of-the-art and has the latest technology such as an intra oral camera to help better treat and educate patients.

Dental@Hoppers, 599 Sayers Road, Hoppers Crossing. Opens 9am-5pm Monday-Wednesday; 9am-7pm Thursday-Friday; and 9am-1pm Saturday-Sunday. Inquiries: 8763 2885 or dental@hoppers.com.au
