IN FOCUS: Health hub a welcome asset

It’s been open for just nine months, but Women’s Health Hub is already transforming the lives of women and their families.

Unique to Melbourne’s west, the general practice clinic is staffed by female-only doctors and specialists.

This decision was an easy one, says practice manager Laura Robinson, because it’s been felt for a long time that Wyndham needed just such a focused service.

“We welcome women of all ages and mothers and their families, as well as men and boys – we’re a whole-family service,” Laura says.

“With the population boom in Wyndham, it was clear there was a need for a female-centred clinic – Wyndham is full of young families and there are a lot of babies being born.

“With that comes shared care and post-natal medical care. But beyond that need, there are other female-specific medical issues that many women want to treat with the help of other women.”

Laura says Women’s Health Hub is where advanced medicine meets advanced service.

“We integrate all women’s health
needs, with on-site gynaecology, psychology, physiotherapy, podiatry and maternal health.

“Our amazing team accompanies women on their lifelong health journey, from menstruation to menopause and beyond. We specialise in obstetrics, contraception, fertility, post-natal care and hormonal issues.”

General practice services and travel vaccines are available at the clinic too, among others. The full list of services and treatments can be found in the advertisement below.

Women’s Health Hub also runs iron infusion and Mirena (IUD) clinics, as well as pelvic health and urogyne services.

The clinic opens later on Wednesdays and Thursdays, timeframes designed for busy working women who won’t need to take time off work to enable consultations and treatments for them and their children.

Women’s Health Hub, 236 Hoppers Lane, Werribee. Opens 8am-6pm Monday, Tuesday and Friday; 8am-7pm Wednesday; 8am-8pm Thursday; and 9am-1pm Saturday.  Inquiries: 8652 5441 or visit womenshealthhub.com.au
