Students celebrate cultural diversity week with a heritage costume parade

Students at Point Cook’s Carranballac P-9 College got in touch with their ancestral roots last week.

Students across the school’s Jamieson Way and Boardwalk campuses tried out sumo wrestling, Bollywood dancing, henna hand designs, Indian Rangoli chalk designs, and Indian, Chinese, Polish and Japanese crafts as part of cultural diversity week.

The school capped off the week with a cultural heritage costume parade.

Acting early years assistant principal Jenny Gault said more than 50 nationalities were represented across the school population.
