Race fashion hits the catwalk

Hold your horses – spring fashion is here so it’s time to get your racing wardrobe on point.

Colourful dresses, co-ordinated shoes and matching millinery will hit the catwalk later this month when the Wyndham Business and Tourism Association hosts its annual fundraising fashion carnival.

Customers from Tonia T Boutique and Urban Rose will showcase spring fashion while auctioneer Rob Westwood, from First National Real Estate, will put his talents to worthy use in a fundraising auction.

Money raised will go towards the critical care unit at Werribee Mercy Hospital.

Last year, the association raised more than $2200 for the Wyndham Community and Education Centre.

Fashion carnival organiser Tonia Tribe is urging racegoers to shop local for their spring racing carnival outfits this year.

“The main street of Werribee is a fabulous place to come and get your dress, shoes, fascinator and handbag,” she said.

The Spring Fashion Carnival will be on Tuesday, October 18, from 6.30pm at the Park Hotel, 12 Watton Street. Tickets cost $39.

Tickets can be purchased at Tonia T Boutique, 16 Watton Street.
