Multicultural race day at Werribee – PICTURES

Fashions on the Field received a cultural makeover at Werribee racecourse on Saturday.

As part of Werribee Racing Club’s Multicultural Race Day festivities, 25 entrants took to the catwalk for the Miss International Fashions on the Field pageant.

Shoba Sriram wowed in her traditional Indian dress to win the open ladies category, and Victoria, 11, wore a traditional Russian dress to take out the junior division.

Competition organiser and Wyndham councillor Heather Marcus says the event will be back next year.

“It was a brilliant day,” she said.

Werribee Racing Club will host an extra race meeting on Friday April 15, after the original Kilmore meeting was transferred.
