6 things to do around Wyndham

From celebrating World Bamboo Day to an ’80s retro night, here’s six things to do around Wyndham.

World Bamboo Day

The Migrant Hub is hosting a food and fun festival to celebrate World Bamboo Day on September 12 from 10am to 7.30pm at the Wyndham Civic Centre, 45 Princes Highway, Werribee. The event includes a jumping castle, roving performers, and bamboo-inspired dishes, games, arts and crafts. Entry if $5 per adult. Kids under 12 are admitted free.

Family fun fundraiser

A family fun day at Wyndham Park Primary School will raise funds for five-year-old Sienna Cordell, who has spastic cerebral palsy and needs surgery to get her walking again. There will be market stalls, entertainment and a tea party with Frozen star Elsa. The event runs from 10am to 2pm this Saturday at Kookaburra Avenue, Werribee.

’80s night

Step back in time, and step into the groove, at Hoppers Crossing’s ’80s retro night at the Youth Resource Centre, 86 Derrimut Road, on September 11. Open to young people aged 12-17, the night includes games, films and dancing – and attendees can get a free portrait of themselves drawn on the night. Entry $2.
