New-look Myer Werribee gears up for its official launch

As new-look Myer Werribee gears up for its official launch at Pacific Werribee on Saturday, July 30, AFL superstar Patrick Dangerfield and wife Mardi gave a preview of what will be on offer, donning outfits from the Country Road label in the grounds of Shadowfax Winery.

Country Road is among 86 labels Myer is introducing to Pacific Werribee. Other new, fashion-forward stablemates – local and global – include Topshop, Topman, Veronika Maine, Industrie, Seed, French Connection, Jack & Jones, and Review, along with MAC cosmetics.

Myer reopens its doors on Thursday to give locals their first look at the new store, which is three times the size of the old one, and sprawls across two levels. It promises customers a shopping experience akin to metropolitan Melbourne, with fashion, food and entertainment showcased at unprecedented levels.

Employing 70 new staff to bring the total to 120, the store also launches an entirely new approach to customer service based on expressed local needs.

The Myer Hub offers a ‘click-and-collect’ service for online orders and a pick-up point, as well as lay-by, gift wrapping, ‘shop & drop’, in-store ordering and appointment booking services.

And this is the spot to charge up mobile phones or tap into free wifi. There’s also an in-house café, with Hudson Coffee beans in the brew.

Dangerfield, touted as having a great shot at this year’s Brownlow medal, rocked the Country Road look at the winery, with an en pointe bomber jacket in army green, teamed with a checked shirt, tan slim-leg trousers and Blaq lace-ups.

The stunning Mardi matched him for style, wearing Country Road’s silky crepe harem pants, paired with a classic striped shirt and shoes from Miss Shop.

On Saturday July 30, Dangerfield will be on stage for more fashion fun with Western Bulldog’s Jake Stringer and MC Lauren Phillips during the Myer Werribee launch.

Festivities will include fashion workshops, DJ performances, Barbie and Batman appearances, face painting and Jedi Training Academy sessions.

The expected hordes of visitors can see Dangerfield and Stringer on stage at 12.30pm and 1.30pm, and there will be a meet-and-greet for fans in between. And at 1pm and 2.30pm, dynamic Australian all-singing, all-dancing children’s group Hi-5 will hit the stage to perform hits, such as So Many Animals and L.O.V.E. – so pack the dancing shoes.
