Indian film festival

Bollywood is coming to Wyndham from August 25-30, when the Wyndham Cultural Centre hosts the Indian Film Festival. Screenings are free. Opening night will be celebrated with food, Bollywood dancing and screenings.

Making cheese

Learn to make your favourite cheeses at the Iramoo Community Centre, 84 Honour Avenue, Wyndham Vale from 10am-2pm on August 23. Horticulturist and handyman Craig Castree will lead the class, which also includes discussion on sustainable living. Booking essential. Cost is $50 and includes light lunch, samples and take-home notes.

Youth night

Are you between 18 and 25 and want to meet new people? Then head down to 1eight2five’s youth parma night on August25 at the Youth Resource Centre, 86 Derrimut Road, Hoppers Crossing, from 6-9pm. The night is part of the council’s 1eight2five program, which gives young people the opportunity to get together in a social setting and meet people their age. Cost is $10. Bookings essential.

Overeaters Anonymous

Do you worry about the way you eat? Overeaters Anonymous may have the answer for you. The group is not a diet club, has no weigh-ins, dues or fees and meets at 7.30pm on Tuesdays at the Jubilee Centre, Sacred Heart Church, 9 Newcastle Street, Newport.

Run with the pack

Western Athletics is seeking past members to celebrate its 20th birthday. The club was established in 1995 when Footscray, Sunshine and Werribee athletic clubs amalgamated. A dinner will be held on September 12 at the Werribee Italian Social Club.
