A support program for Wyndham-based fathers will return to AquaPulse next month, giving dads a place to talk and work out.
Working Out Dads, a six-week program run by early parenting organisation Tweddle, combines an hour of discussion with 30 minutes of guided fitness.
The program was a hit with Wyndham dads in its first round in April this year.
It’s open to both full-time and part-time fathers of children aged up to four.
Tweddle chief executive Jacquie O’Brien said there was a lack of practical education in the western suburbs for fathers.
She said the program was designed for participants to work on developing parenting skills and confidence, building relationships and juggling the needs of family, work and self.
The program also helps fathers deal with managing stress and pressure, and teaches them how to maintain healthy adult relationships.
Feedback from the first round was positive, with fathers reporting back that they’d gone along for various reasons, including networking, exercise, sharing experiences and education.
The second round of the program kicks off on Monday, July 18, at 7pm.
There will be 10 Wyndham fathers invited to join each of four groups. AquaPulse is at 80 Derrimut Road, Hoppers Crossing.
