These three Wyndham mums are hosting a Girls’ Night In with a twist.

For once, the guys – but no kids – are allowed.

Secondly, the fun and games will be all in the name of cancer research.

Sharon Saunders, Sherryn Bamforth and Kylie Wright, who raise funds for the Cancer Council under the banner Wings of Hope, will hold a girls’ and guys’ night-in dinner next month to raise money for women’s cancer research.

It’s the third time the trio has hosted a women’s cancer fundraising dinner, with last year’s event bringing in $10,000.

This year, the women hope to raise the bar and bring in up to 150 guests to raise $12,000.

None of the women have personally been touched by cancer, but Ms Saunders said all three had indirectly been affected through family members.

“We had a lady who attended a high tea we held back in May, and four weeks later she had passed away with cancer,” she said. “It devastated a lot of people to think this lady was there and then had passed away.”

The Wings of Hope annual dinner is on September 11 from 6.30pm at DiCaprio Family Restaurant, 88 Derrimut Road, Hoppers Crossing, and will include a three-course dinner, drinks at bar prices, raffles, auctions and entertainment.

Tickets are $50 per person.
