The coronavirus pandemic has fast-tracked innovation so it comes as no surprise that this year The Gordon’s Open Day will be streamed live.
The Virtual Open Day will introduce viewers to The Gordon and its campuses across the Wyndham and Geelong regions. Take a campus tour, learn about the services available for students, and explore courses and career pathways.
Participants have the opportunity to connect directly with program areas and find out more about their chosen area of interest, what they can expect to learn, and potential career outcomes.
Joe Ormeno, chief executive of The Gordon states, “TAFE offers an abundance of vocational learning options and The Gordon’s Open Day is a great means for our future students to explore the pathways we offer.
“While many people are certain of their career path, many others are still determining the direction they want to take,” Mr Ormeno says.
“One of the great values of studying at The Gordon is that you can explore your passions without having to commit to long-term study.”
The Gordon’s Werribee campus offers a broad range of courses, including early childhood education, community services, business administration, animal studies, horticulture, and conservation.
A variety of pre-apprenticeships and short courses are available at the Hoppers Crossing campus.
For anyone still deciding the profession they want to pursue, The Gordon offers an online career quiz. When registering for Open Day, participants can take the quiz to discover career avenues that focus on their interests.
Transitioning The Gordon’s Open Day to an online event allows prospective students to connect safely, from the comfort of their home, while engaging in Q&A sessions with industry experts.
Mr Ormeno commented that it is important for the TAFE to offer solutions that allowed people to socially distance while still remaining connected.
