Marina is state-of-the-art

Nestled on the north-western shores of Port Phillip Bay, Wyndham Harbour – the only safe harbour between Geelong and Williamstown – is Victoria’s newest marina with state-of-the-art facilities.

Judi Finn from Wyndham Harbour Marina Operations says that not only is Wyndham Harbour a hidden gem and a great place to visit, it is also the perfect location to store your boat.

“We offer marina berths from 10-24 metres, and now have 104 trailer bays – all occupied and with a waiting list,” Judi says.

“We also provide jet ski storage on our Dockpro pontoons, and have just introduced our new Roodberg hydraulic lift trailer so are now equipped to haul out up to 10-ton vessels to our new maintenance area.

“The boats are retrieved from the water and placed onto hardstands so that members or contractors can carry out work on the vessels.

“We are currently in the process of building a dry storage shed with spaces for up to 400 boats.

“We’re building all new infrastructure to
do a launch and retrieve process for our guests – all our members will be required to do is make a phone call and their boat will be in the water waiting for them when they arrive.”

Marina operations team
“Our small but dedicated team love being around the water and even more so boats. We have a great workplace that’s fun and enjoyable but also safe. Everyone loves helping new and current marina members and go out of their way to give a warm welcome.

“As well, all staff are experienced and participate in regular training programs and courses to further their knowledge of the marine industry.”

Judi herself has been in the marine industry for more than 20 years and worked at marinas for more than eight.

“There’s never a dull moment,” she says.

“Every day is different, and I’m always looking to create new jobs and infrastructure for the benefit of the Wyndham Harbour community.”

Worth noting
“We always have the cheapest marine fuel on the bay, available 24/7. Right now, introductory price on 13-metre berths is $4895, and 15-metre berths at $5395.”

What’s ahead?
“Our business grows every day and we’re looking forward to seeing the marina expand to accommodate 1000 berths, and possibly the development of travel lift expansion to cater for larger vessels.”
