Childs Play is twice as much fun

Sam and Ian Johnson, who have operated a family-run “exceeding” childcare service on Tarneit Road for more than seven years, are expanding Child’s Play early learning centre. The pair is opening a second Child’s Play in June – on Hermosa Drive, Tarneit.

The new centre has seven rooms, catering for 130 children aged from six weeks to six years, who will be cared for by qualified educators – hand-picked for their caring, supportive and compassionate attitude and nature.

Sam says that some educators are moving over from the existing Tarneit Road centre in order to maintain the embedded culture and consistency she and Ian provide.

“This will also ensure continuity of high-quality care, given to and expected by our parents and children,” says Sam. “Ian and I will be actively involved at the new centre, while Caitlin Phillips and Teena Beri will manage the centre on a day-to-day basis.

“Caitlin and Teena have worked alongside us for more than five years. They’ve grown and evolved with us; they understand our philosophy of ‘every child matters’; and they’ll ensure consistency in both services.”

Family fun day

To celebrate the launch of the new Child’s Play, a fun-filled family day takes place at 10am-3pm on Saturday, June 19.

“All families – past, present and future – are invited to the big day,” Ian says. “We’ll have face-painters, Happy Feet and Little Sports Heroes to entertain the kids and give parents and carers a chance to try out some of our incursions.

“And our chef will be on hand to cook up some sample dishes. Everyone is welcome to join in and have a look around, meet the educators … and see how we do things.”
