An aged care oasis at Manor Court

Tucked away in Hogan Grove with sprawling grounds and a homely feel, you will find Manor Court Werribee Aged Care. Truly an icon of the city, Manor Court has been quietly serving the community for 43 years.

As a community owned, not-for-profit aged care home built by the community for the community, it receives Rotary and local council support to help with significant fundraising activities.

These days, Manor Court has evolved into a 100-bed facility, catering for people who require respite, patients with dementia and those who require permanent care with all levels of health needs. There are registered nurses on site 24/7 as well as a team of experienced enrolled nurses, and care staff.

“One of the benefits we offer is the fact that as a standalone facility, we can make decisions quickly and strive to take a person-centered approach,” says CEO Linda Kensington.

Manor Court has recently embarked on a major upgrade of its garden rooms, with the refurbished rooms receiving resoundingly positive feedback.

“These rooms have a sliding door directly onto a garden area where many of our residents have their own little patch, growing plants from their old gardens or even carrots as a gift for our on-site chef,” Ms Kensington says.

“Moving into a care home is a huge transition for anyone, and we do all we can to support that adjustment. It is lovely to watch people reconnecting with old friends and making new ones. Friday afternoon happy hour can be a very noisy affair, with lots of laughter, music and even a little dancing!”

Manor Court is located at 5 Hogan Grove, Werribee. For more information, visit www.manorcourt.org.au or phone (03) 9742 0699.
