A local cafe with that little extra

With passionate and talented chef Harveen Gupta at the helm, it’s not a total surprise that his Watton Street cafe was named as a finalist in the 2018 Wyndham Business Awards just a year after opening.

Since then, Harveen and his wife and business partner, Aneet, have rebranded the winning Jaffa Espresso Bar to become Café B2B, the name of which holds particular significance.

“B2B is in tribute to Aneet, who is an Australian lawyer along with mastering the art of coffee making, all with a smile – thus Barrister to Barista,” Harv explains. “She is a firm believer in the popular saying ‘To be successful, the first thing to do is fall in love with your work’.”

Harv himself brings his own significant credentials to Cafe B2B. He’s worked with industry heavyweights, such as Rydges, the ACCOR Group and the Hilton – and now people from Werribee and as far away as Geelong are the lucky ones.

B2B’s menu is best described as modern Aussie cuisine, with subtle global influences. The all-day brekkie selection is nothing short of sumptuous, while moving into lunchtime dishes is immensly appetising too.

The King of Benedict’s dish ($19) is a good example of the well-curated breakfast menu: Three assorted benedict’s (smoked salmon, bacon and ham) served on English muffins, with free-range poached eggs and topped with hollandaise sauce.

It certainly doesn’t end there, with pancakes, chilli scrambled eggs, vegie brekkie, grilled halloumi on sourdough toast, and a granola bowl among plenty more designed to kick-start the day – or anytime.

All-day lunches offer the likes of risotto, seafood and pasta dishes, burgers, Thai green curry and classic flathead and chips.

Macarons, cakes and muffins are on board for sweet-lovers, as is a special kids’ menu, along with gluten-free and vego choices.

As Harv puts it: “The difference between ordinary and extraordinary is that little extra”.

This busy gem of a place, and its fun, energetic crew, sure meets that brief. Don’t miss the B2B experience…

Good news from Chef Harv: “Very soon we are planning to open another branch of B2B in the neighbouring suburbs!”
