Wyndham Vale Montessori Centre students Ashwin and Aisha got up close and personal with snakes, lizards and other reptiles last week during an incursion.
Dan Mangano from Reptile Encounters visited the childcare centre last Thursday, bringing in an owl, crocodile, snakes, lizards and a possum for children to hold and pat.
Hayley Thornton from Wyndham Vale Montessori Centre said Mr Mangano spoke to the children about each animal, what they’re like in the wild and what they eat.
Tai chi for seniors
Tai chi is an ancient Chinese gentle exercise that increases flexibility, reduces stress, improves health and balance.
Attend a free session and practise how to relax your mind and body.

Volunteers needed
The Multiple Sclerosis Community Visitors Scheme is seeking male and female volunteers to join its visitors program in the Point Cook and Altona Meadows areas to talk to residents in aged-care centres.

Craft folk show their wares
The 38th annual Werribee Craft Festival is on November 5 and 6 at Wyndham Civic Centre, 45 Princes Highway, Werribee, from 9am until 4pm both days. Free admission and parking.
Enjoy children’s craft activities, roving entertainment and Devonshire teas and other tasty treats. More than 80 stalls will sell top-class crafts.

Children’s Week at Werribee Zoo
Werribee Open Range Zoo will celebrate Children’s Week on October 29-30, with special performances by theatre group Born in a Taxi. The roving performers will help bring the story of the Eastern Barred Bandicoot to life for young visitors, via two singing, dancing and larger than life bandicoots, with an important message to share. During the day, kids can also learn more about these amazing marsupials at a special Keeper Talk in the Bandicoot Hideout.
Probus Club calling
The Combined Probus Club of Wyndham provides fun, fellowship and friendship for retired or semi-retired adults. The club meets 1.30-3pm on the second Tuesday of the month at Kelly Park Community Centre, Werribee. If you like walking, dining, cycling and outings, come to a meeting.

Hands on art
Join Melissa Murphy-Vella to learn fundamental clay techniques and skills. Be introduced to key hand-building techniques: pinch pot; coil; slab construction; and explore various surface decorating techniques, such as glazing. Classes start on October 19 from 7-9pm at the Saltwater Community Centre, 153 Saltwater Promenade, Point Cook, and will run every Wednesday until November 23. Suitable for all levels of experience. Classes are $25 each or $75 for the six weeks.
