Writing the War stories

Visit the Plaza Library, Derrimut Road, Hoppers Crossing, and hear extraordinary stories of war in the Writing the War exhibition, which details Australian experiences of World War I. The free exhibition will run until November 13.

Game, set, match

Werribee tennis club invites all those interested in social tennis for all abilities to come along to Chirnside Park, Watton Street, Werribee, on Thursdays from 7pm. Cost is $10.

Twilight market

Point Cook College will hold its first Twilight Market on October 14, 3-7pm, at 18-50 Ponsford Drive. The market will feature an array of stalls, community groups, a kids’ fun zone, food vendors and entertainment. Free entry.

Volunteers needed

The Multiple Sclerosis Community Visitors Scheme is seeking male and female volunteers to join its visitors program in the Point Cook and Altona Meadows areas to talk to residents in aged care centres.

Artful healing workshops

Bored? Need some creative inspiration? In Artful Healing workshops you will learn new artistic skills, socialise and express yourself in a supportive and friendly setting. The classes start this week and run every Thursday at the Wyndham Arts Incubator Hub, corner Watton Street and Duncans Road, Werribee, between 10am and noon. Cost is $5, which includes art supplies, tuition, tea and coffee.

Manor Lakes market

The Manor Lakes neighbourhood market will run at Wyndham Vale Community and Learning Centre on October 15, from 10am until 2pm. There will be more than 30 stalls showcasing small local businesses.

The Point Cook Village artisans market and open day will be held on October 8 from 10am until 2pm at 320 Point Cook Road, Point Cook. There will be wood crafts, handbags, jewellery, cards, preserves and baked goods.

Werribee crafts

The 38th annual Werribee Craft Festival will be held on November 5 and 6 at Wyndham Civic Centre, 45 Princes Highway, Werribee, from 9am until 4pm both days. Free admission and parking. Enjoy children’s craft activities, roving entertainment and Devonshire teas and other tasty treats. More than 80 stalls will sell top-class crafts creations.
