Refuse disposal information session

An information session about the future of the Wests Road Refuse Disposal Facility will be held in meeting rooms 1 and 2 at Eagle Stadium, 35 Ballan Road, Werribee on Thursday, July 28, from 1.30pm until 8pm. Presentations will be made throughout the day.

Free expo for senior drivers

A senior driver expo will be held from 9.45am on August 20 at Hobsons Bay Council Civic Offices, 115 Civic Parade, Altona. RoadSafe Westgate Community Road Safety Council will provide information about road laws, health and effects of medicines. Participants will get a free and confidential driving assessment in their own car and an assessment of their car’s safety and roadworthiness. A free lunch will be provided; booking essential.

Lacrosse players wanted

Wyndham Warriors lacrosse team is looking for players for teams ranging from boys and girls to those for men and women. The club trains Mondays and Wednesdays from 6pm at Tarneit’s Wootten Road Reserve.

Manor Lakes market

A Manor Lakes neighbourhood market will run at Wyndham Vale Community and Learning Centre on October 15. Organisers are looking for more stallholders, who must reside or run their businesses in Wyndham and have their own public liability insurance.

Facebook – friend or foe?

Wyndham council youth services is hosting a free information session covering cyberbullying, photo sharing and other Facebook and social media issues. The session is designed to arm parents with knowledge to ensure their children’s online experiences are positive and appropriate. The event will be held at Wyndham Vale Community Centre, 86 Manor Lakes Boulevard, Wyndham Vale, on Thursday, July 28, from 6.30pm.

Learn to relax

Learn mindfulness, meditation, yoga and relaxation on Tuesdays during term three from 7.30-8.30pm at Crossroads Uniting Church foyer, corner of Synnot Street and Duncans Road, Werribee. Bring your own yoga mat and blanket. Cost is $15 or $12 for concession.

Join Probus

Werribee Probus Club is looking for new members – retired or semi-retired men who would like to fill up some of their spare time. Probus organises bowls, lunches, theatre nights, day tours, wine tastings and professional speakers for monthly meetings held on the fourth Monday of each month. The group also offers involvement in the B24 bomber restoration and Werribee Men’s Shed.
