Lacrosse players wanted

Wyndham Warriors lacrosse team is looking for players for all teams – boys and girls, men’s and women’s. The club trains Mondays and Wednesdays from 6pm at Tarneit’s Wootten Road Reserve.

Table tennis Tuesdays

Werribee Table Tennis welcomes table tennis enthusiasts at their weekly Tuesday morning sessions between 9am and 11am at Eagle Stadium, 35 Ballan Road, Werribee. Free coaching provided. Cost $5.

Probus Club invite

The Combined Probus Club of Wyndham is a club for fun, fellowship and friendship for adults who are retired or semi-retired. The club meets on the second Tuesday of the month at Kelly Park Community Centre, Werribee, 1.30-3pm. If you like walking, dining, brunch, cycling, trips and outings, come to a meeting.

Open studio

Artist Carolyn Warren-Langford will throw open the doors to PyreWorks Studio, 22 Covent Garden, Point Cook, between 10am-4pm on August 21 and 22. View her sculptures and watch Carolyn at work on her bead project, which is nearing completion.

Ladies night out

Women are invited to the Werribee Church of Christ, 200 Tarneit Road, Werribee, on August 27 from 6.30pm, for a free dinner and night out. The church has joined up with the Chinese Methodist Church and the Melbourne Praise Church to help women make friends and to discover the issues that are affecting them.

Ferry to fireworks

Port Phillip Ferries will run a special Docklands winter fireworks spectacular for six weeks on Fridays during August. Departing from Wyndham Harbour at 4.30pm each Friday, Port Phillip Ferries will arrive in Docklands just in time for an amazing view of the fireworks at 6.30pm.

Expo for older drivers

A senior drivers expo will be held from 9.45am on August 20 at Hobsons Bay council civic offices, 115 Civic Parade, Altona. RoadSafe Westgate Community Road Safety Council will provide information about road laws, health and effects of medicines. Participants can have a free and confidential driving assessment in their own car, and an assessment of their car’s safety and roadworthiness. A free lunch will be provided. Bookings essential.

Manor Lakes market

A Manor Lakes neighbourhood market will run at Wyndham Vale Community and Learning Centre on October 15. Organisers are looking for more stallholders, who must reside or run their businesses in Wyndham and have their own public liability insurance.

Race unplugged

Wyndham Art Gallery presents RACE, an extended program of events that unpack, unmask and explore issues around race and what it means. Through exhibitions, film, public discussions and performance, this program aims to break down the barriers and stigma that can surround race relations, and lead the way towards a more understanding, unified, represented and dignified society.
