Open garden

A secret garden at Cloverdale estate, on the outskirts of Werribee, will open to the public for the first time between 10am and 4.30pm on October 20 and 21 as part of the Open Gardens scheme. Entry will cost $8 for adults, $5 for students and free for under 18.

Senior bowls

Come and try your hand at lawn bowls, darts, carpet bowls for all abilities and pool at the Hoppers Bowls Club, 180 Pannam Drive, Hoppers Crossing, on October 18 from 10.30am-3pm. No experience necessary. Casual, flat shoes can be worn. Free cake, coffee and showbag. Prizes to be won.

Manor Lakes Twilight Market

Head to the Manor Lakes Community Centre on Saturday, October 6, from 5-9pm for the Manor Lakes Twilight Market. There will be more than 50 stalls including food trucks, free face-painting, a DJ and more. Enjoy a moonlight cinema screening of Trolls from 7pm.

The Brotherhood of St Laurence Op Shop, 19 Elm Park Drive, Hoppers Crossing, has clothes and toys, homewares, electricals, furniture, records, books, mattresses, disability aids and more. Open Monday-Sunday 9.30am-5pm, closed on public holidays.

Market treasures

The Werribee Ladies for Kids, working for the Royal Children’s Hospital, will host a shop at Pacific Werribee from Monday, October 1, until Sunday, October 7. Items for sale will include jumpers, footy rugs, beanies, scarves, teddies, jams and other market treasures.

Bowling with babies

Mums and bubs get together each Friday from 10am-1.30pm at the Werribee Bowls Club, Chirnside Park, 237 Watton Street, to socialise and have fun games of indoor bowls. Mums’ groups are very welcome.

Enjoy shows, workshops and events in Wyndham during the school holidays. As part of the Melbourne Fringe Festival, Circus Trick Tease will bring its award-winning comedy circus show, Children Are Stinky, to Kelly Park Centre. There are also puppet workshops, a free Superhero Hunt through Werribee’s CBD and more.
