Style and substance: 35 Finsbury Crescent, Manor Lakes, 3024

Hitting the high notes in terms of presentation, decor and entertainment space, this contemporary abode on about 790 square metres will tempt many a family.

The ever-popular colour palette of greys and white juxtaposes with honey-toned floorboards, soft-grey carpet and a mix of white plantation shutters and roller blinds on windows.

The feel of airy space is emphasised by the open-plan layout, which incorporates entry hall, a study, a carpeted lounge room and the expansive, floorboarded living hub at the back.

The kitchen/entertainment pivot wins ticks for aesthetic appeal and practicality. It has a walk-in pantry (which is the clever entry point from the remote-controlled double garage), a Caesarstone waterfall island bench, dove-grey glass splashback, dual-tone cabinetry and all the mod-cons.

The main bedroom, also at the back, has double-door entry and plenty of room for a retreat set-up. There’s also a glass slider to the outdoor room, plus a walk-in wardrobe. The smart en suite, with dual bowl-basins atop a Caesarstone vanity, has a large window down to floor level that admits streams of natural light.

Three more fitted bedrooms share a hallway with the gleaming main bathroom, separate toilet and the laundry.

The aforementioned outdoor room, also linking with the living hub, strikes the sweet-spot. It’s really an extra living area that not only meets entertainment needs but could easily serve as kids’ play space. Large and anchored by grey tiles, it has several laser-cut inset wall screens inviting filtered light and an extra-big timber-framed glass slider to a backyard with verdant lawn. There remains scope for adding a shed, gardens or playground to join an existing firepit area.

Another feature to be found at this excellent place is ducted heating. The whole shebang is within a four-minute car trip of Manor Lakes Shopping Centre and less to Wyndham Vale train station.
