Pizzazz with perks: 50 Eureka Drive, Manor Lakes, 3024

In the go-ahead new suburb of Manor Lakes, this former display home from Metricon is directly opposite playing fields of Our Lady of the Southern Cross Primary School, and Manor Lakes College and Wyndham Vale train station are a five-minute amble away.

The family-friendly locale adds to the appeal of the house, as do the many indoor perks. Of greatest note are the three sets of bifolds from living zones that create an extraordinary connection with outdoor spaces. Other high points are the fabric pelmets above white timber blinds on all windows and the tall opaque-glass doors in a couple of spots.

A consistent palette of greys and white is first seen in the tiled entry hall, which shows off a wall of designer wallpaper.

Double doors on the right usher in the main bedroom, which has a downlit bulkhead above the bed, a walk-through wardrobe and a stylish en suite with dual basins recessed in a soft-chocolate vanity unit. Another bedroom, with mirrored robes, is next door, while two more with the same are down a carpeted hall – as are the gleaming main bathroom, separate toilet and laundry.

Just before the living hub kicks off, there’s an open study/sitting room with the first set of those bifolds to a leafy garden area with a pond sporting a pair of water features. The remaining bifolds are in the living hub, one set to a side deck, beautified with laser-cut screens and sculptural plantings; and another to a rear deck that looks out to a strip of synthetic turf and tall, underplanted screening trees.

Mocha is the main shade in the kitchen, found as laminate on an island bench for at least five, plus the splashback tiles. Cabinetry is in chocolate, the cupboard pantry has an opaque-glass door. A dishwasher, underbench oven and 900mm gas cooktop make up the appliances.

This well-put-together place has ducted heating and cooling, a 1.5kW solar system and a double garage with a carpeted gym/office nook with glass slider to front yard.
