Family hideaway: 4 Teeside Court, Sanctuary Lakes, 3030

Built by Stonehenge Homes for the twin brother of that company’s director, this sprawling house in the gated enclave of Medallion estate is a family haven in terms of indoor space and outdoor resort vibe. Beautifully secluded, the property has unimpeded access to the golf course and water-enhanced gardens out front that stamp it with designer style.

Kicking off the journey inside, pale hardwood floorboards lead past an open lounge room with polished concrete floor, wood fireplace and french doors to front gardens and a large, appealing side yard patio with barbecue and bar.

Prior to the floorboards culminating in the vast living hub, they duck left to a study then onwards to a large gym/playroom (accessing the double garage) with split-system and a glass slider to front gardens. There’s a fitted bedroom and bathroom tucked back here as well – a good spot for guests.

Big windows dressed in timber blinds admit streams of light to the living hub, where the kitchen has a wall of white storage surrounding an oven, a marble-topped island bench, pearl-grey glass splashback and 900mm gas cooktop and dishwasher with the Smeg tag.

The ground floor main bedroom has a fitted dressing room and dual-basin en suite, as well as tropical oasis views to wake up to each morning. The remaining two bedrooms are up carpeted stairs, as are a bathroom and powder room. The large, tiled living room up here, with its bank of picture windows providing golf course vistas, has a concealed kitchenette. It abuts, via glass sliders, a fab covered balcony with a wood fireplace. A solar- and gas-heated pool and spa, rimmed with crazy-paving and rocks, has a backdrop of densely planted tropicals – a look you might find in Bali, one also reflected in the poolside pavilion.

Gas ducted heating, evaporative cooling, an alarm, ducted vacuum, laundry chute and in-roof storage are other perks at a property that, with small cosmetic tweaks, promises years of comfortable living ahead.
