Moves to re-draw riding boundaries within Werribee Shire are gathering pace following an exchange of correspondence between the council and Werribee Association. Objectionable features of the present boundaries include the spread of Werribee into West Riding at Windermere and into North Riding at Mossfiel.

The fights come back to Werribee next month. The amateur night at Centenary Hall on August 2 will feature at least 10 bouts, including several Victorian intermediate championships. The fights will be promoted by the Hoppers Crossing Apex Club and ICS Financial Services in conjunction with the Werribee Boxing Club and the Victorian Amateur Boxing Association.

Werribee Zoo expects to triple the number of visitors a year with a $20 million redevelopment program that will see carnivores at the wildlife park. About 100,000 people visit the zoo each year. Work on the first stage of the project started last week and is due to be completed within 12 months.

Wyndham parents appear to be bucking the national trend with a baby boom on in earnest throughout the region. Werribee Hospital delivered 1752 babies in 2004-05, a 252 increase on the average annual total of about 1500.
