May 14, 1975

The first report and recommendations of a board of inquiry into dairying in Victoria has put the incomes of many of Werribee South’s dairy farmers in jeopardy. A recommendation threatening the local dairy farmers is one which, if implemented by the government, would abolish the higher price paid for milk supplied for direct human consumption than for milk for conversion into butter and cheese.

May 15, 1985

The boatsheds at Campbells Cove may or may not be under threat, but their owners seem to have firmly rejected attempts to save them instituted by an organisation known as Bayside. It was certainly news to the boatshed owners that the meeting held on Sunday behind boatshed 51 was organised by Bayside to save the boatsheds from the state government.

May 10, 1995

Rampaging vandals have burnt the infrastructure of four children’s parks to the ground in the City of Wyndham in the past three weeks. Fires have destroyed council-owned play equipment, hooligans have driven cars onto reserves, smashed beer bottles and left the jagged remains around slides and swings. The vandals hit playgrounds in Wyndham Vale, Hoppers Crossing and Werribee.

Councillor Mark Rose has announced his shock resignation after seven years on Wyndham council. On Monday night, Cr Rose cited escalating work and family responsibilities as the reason for his decision. He said that as a police officer and a father of four, he had found it increasingly difficult to find the time to adequately serve residents.
