A Werribee man narrowly escaped death when the truck he was driving stalled on the Werribee Street railway crossing and was hit by a Melbourne-bound V/Line train with 22 passengers on board. Roger Brady, 32, was travelling home about 3.15pm when his truck’s engine failed. When the boom gates came down, Mr Brady knew he was in trouble. When the train was within 100 metres, he jumped out and ran for his life.
