Now we’re all cooking at Pacific Werribee

Werribee youngsters can now expect an international culinary experience every night of the week thanks to the Festival of the Foodies.

Gourmands flocked to Pacific Werribee’s Urban Diner at the weekend, rolling up their sleeves and getting their aprons on for all sorts of culinary activities, workshops and food-making.

They tucked and rolled burritos, filled and gently sealed rice paper rolls, and sampled boutique beverages from Yarra Valley Cider and Hawthorn Brewing Company.

MasterChef runner-up and barbecue aficionado Chris Badenoch was the powerhouse behind some mean hot ribs cooking demonstrations.

“American barbecue is a huge trend in Melbourne at the moment, so we were naturally excited to be dishing up such a delicious range of foodie activities,” he said.

There was plenty to keep children amused while the olds learned how to feed them what they like – the Create a Foodie Face activity gave them the chance to show off their own creative flair in the kitchen.

Pacific Werribee opened its Urban Diner precinct in June last year as part of a landmark $370 million redevelopment aimed at tapping into the power of food and fashion in the west.

New department and specialty stores will complete the redevelopment later this year.
