CFA attends another suspicious grassfire

Werribee Fire Brigade responded to a fire along the Werribee River yesterday evening, bringing the week’s total to seven.

First Lieutenant Darryl Wells said the fire broke out at around 5.52pm along the walking track near the Werribee Street bridge.

“Two Werribee tankers responded to the fire, along with one from Hoppers Crossing and another from Wyndham Vale,” he said. “Police also attended the scene.”

He said it is believed the fire was suspiciously lit.
