Artists paint Werribee town red

Six artists, Ana Varea, Bernadette Smallwood, Dana Falcini, Kinga Kaloumaira, Sanela Sinikovic and Vicki Kinai took to Werribee’s Watton Street during the weekend to install red-themed pop-up artworks that celebrate cultural diversity and traditions.

The works appear in shop windows, on walls, footpaths and other unexpected places along the main street until Christmas Eve.

Among the pieces are a wishing tree on Station Place, henna decorating at the Werribee Business Centre and a red dragon artwork at the Park Hotel.

The Red project, which has run for the past four years, is a joint initiative of Werribee traders and Wyndham council.
