CHARITABLE work will get a shake-up in Point Cook, with a new Lions club celebrating its charter night.
Under the Lions’ banner ‘We serve’, district governor David Lowing presented the official charter to new club president Neal Robertson on March 17. The club has 22 members.
“Point Cook will be proud to have such a fine group serving their community,” Mr Lowing said.
Members of the Werribee Lions Club, who sponsored the Point Cook club, were also on hand to congratulate members.
Guest speaker Dr Meron Pitcher spoke about the work that BreastWest does supporting western suburbs women having treatment for breast cancer at Sunshine and Footscray hospitals. The new club plans to be involved in raising money for BreastWest.
