The plot thickens at community garden

INTEREST is sprouting over Wyndham’s first community garden, with groups keen to snap up a plot to call their own.

Among them are Western Suburbs Indigenous Gathering Place. It’s chief executive, Colleen Marion (pictured right with Cr Bob Fairclough) wants to promote native Australian plants.

Other Wyndham groups include the local Eritrean community, AMES employment and training service and Centacare.

Cr Fairclough, the Werribee Environmental Community Park president, says he hopes the garden will be a place where people of different cultures can meet, host cooking demonstrations, promote healthy living and encourage organic, sustainable practices.
