Werribee Centrals have advanced to the Geelong and District Netball League A grade grand final after toppling Bell Post Hill 40-34 in a hard-fought preliminary final on Saturday. Centurions goaler Mickayla Ward was on fire under the hoop with 34 goals. The Centurions will rumble with this year’s minor premiers Winchelsea in the grand final.
Paralympics
Australia claimed its first wheelchair rugby gold medal at the London Paralympic Games. The Steelers were packed with Victorians, including Hoppers Crossing’s own Jason Lees.
