Jacob, dad help hospital

THE circle of life has come around quickly for a Point Cook toddler. After being born in Werribee Mercy’s maternity ward last year, Jacob Dyer will feature on an acrylic painting in the hospital’s hallway.

His father, Andrew Dyer (pictured), is one of more than 140 entrants who have submitted their best works for the hospital’s eighth annual art show and sale. Proceeds from the event, which runs until Sunday, will go to improving the hospital.

Mr Dyer, a picture-framer and budding artist, said he knew first-hand what a great job the hospital did. “The money raised from the art show benefits the hospital, so anything we can do to give back is a massive bonus. It’s important because it’s one of the few remaining art shows in Werribee. It gives everyday artists an opportunity to exhibit in a public place the community can enjoy.”
